Connecting Activities

Connecting Activities: School-to-Career

Connecting Activities is a statewide initiative led by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and implemented through the MassHire Workforce Boards, including MassHire Franklin Hampshire. The program helps connect schools with employers to create meaningful work-based learning experiences for high school students.

Through internships, job shadowing, career panels, industry tours, and pre-apprenticeships, students explore career paths, develop professional skills, and prepare for future success. Each opportunity is guided by labor market data and aligned with students’ interests and MyCAP (My Career and Academic Plan) goals.

  • Integration with Innovation Pathways to connect students with industry-specific training and coursework

Connecting Activities helps schools deliver high-quality, equitable career development education, giving students real-world experience and a head start on career readiness.
